Posit.Cloud is a browser-based version of RStudio that requires no local installation — you access it at https://posit.cloud/ (Posit Software, PBC 2025). It is particularly well-suited for classroom settings, where instructors can create shared workspaces that give students access to pre-configured projects and resources.

Posit.Cloud offers free and paid plans. For courses using this textbook, your instructor will provide specific setup instructions, including which plan to use and how to join the class workspace. Visit https://posit.cloud/plans for current plan details.

For individual use or research beyond coursework, a local installation of R and RStudio on your own computer is recommended. See the Appendix for installation instructions.
